Sir Howard Morrison ...

1956 saw the establishment of the Howard Morrison Quartet which entertained NZ until 1964. His work with young Maori youth brought about his OBE in 1976 and a Knighthood followed in 1990 for his career in entertainment. His hit song 'How great Thou art was recorded in 1981 and became a perennial favourite with the nation.  Sir Howard was a household name, a great entertainer and is sorely missed since his passing in 2009.

Sir Howard's Posthumous Award was accepted by Toni Williams of the Howard Morrison Quartet on behalf of the Morrison Family.
